Matie & Torrey originally planned on a traditional large wedding with 200 close friends and family, but COVID-19 unfortunately had other plans. Postponing their nuptials was not on the table and the couple was running out of options. Until Matie came upon a wedding giveaway on Instagram! On a whim she decided to enter, thinking she would never win…until she did. Their wedding day was also featured on Martha Stewart Weddings!
The wedding giveaway prize was a micro wedding led by a creative event team. Michelle Norwood of Michelle Norwood Events was the lead on the event and I was brought in to be the photographer of course. The New Orleans Pharmacy Museum was the setting for this intimate affair. Gold, neutrals and burgundy with a touch of Hollywood glam was the aesthetic for this event.
I actually chose the wedding gown that Matie wore before she even tried it on! I knew this style dress would complement her and their wedding perfectly. The satin material and off the shoulder neckline made it a yes from the start. In true New Orleans fashion, the couple started the night celebrating with a Second Line Band leading into their reception. It was a champagne and wedding cake reception which only means a champagne tower.
I am so happy to have been apart of Matie and Torrey’s special day. I loved being able to give back during this tough year, and help a couple have the wedding they have dreamed about. To read more about Matie & Torrey’s wedding day, click the link below.
